Columbus Family Photography Summer Session
The S Family at Scioto Grove Metro Park in Grove City, Ohio
I’ve worked with the S family for the last few years, documenting their growing family. I first photographed them in the fall as a family of three. They contacted me the following year to schedule a maternity and newborn session! I was so excited to hear about them expecting a second child. Now that little Lucia is a year old they wanted to document her milestone with baby and family photos this summer. I can’t believe she is already a year old! It felt like yesterday they were all in my studio for her newborn session.
Amber, mom, and I chatted back and forth about coordinated family outfits. She had Lucia’s pink dress but didn’t know where to go from there. I helped her choose coordinating colors of white, cream, blue and navy. These colors all go well with Lucia’s pink dress without being matchy. I even helped Amber find a maxi dress for herself! Mom’s look amazing in maxi dresses and they always flatter and photograph well. I have a few maxi dress favorites that I email to clients for them to purchase. Once the girls were dressed it it was time to dress the boys which is always the easy part.
Amber really loved seeing my recent family photos at my little hidden gem at Scioto Grove Metro Park. This park is so big! It’s often daunting trying to find a cute spot at a bigger location. Once I found this cute, shaded field area I knew I struck gold. Clients have been asking for this location and signing up for sessions left and right.
The day of their session we began with Lucia’s baby photos. If you wait until the end of a session for baby portraits your little one might be fussy and tired and want to be held. I was able to get the most adorable expressions from her before moving on to family photos. Once family photos are complete and we have extra time, I am able to get some adorable interactive photos of one parent with each child. These fill your gallery beautifully and really give life to your images.
I love working with the S family every year and can’t wait to see their little ones grow up!
