The B family contacted me to schedule a summer field family photo session. They really wanted to capture their little family during the summer months. I was able to schedule them on the calendar and we began planning their session together!
Mom knew she loved the idea of a simple background like a field at sunset. I knew just the location - it’s the perfect spot for summer portraits. Whether you’re a family of three or a large, extended family with three generations, it’s the perfect spot!
They wanted my help planning outfits and I know Mom really wanted to wear something flattering but she didn’t know where to start. I always suggest maxi dresses for Moms. They can be solid or a soft pattern. They can be worn alone in summer or with a cardigan in cooler months. They flatter every single body type. I sent mom the link to this dress and suggested navy blue to go with her beautiful blonde hair. They look so gorgeous!
Big bro was an absolute dream to photograph. He was so polite and listened to everything I asked of him. He laughed at all my silly tricks and jokes I keep up my sleeve for kiddos. His mama was so impressed by him but she also said she wasn’t surprised and that he is such a well-behaved child. I brought along my favorite quilt for summer and a white chair for him to sit. I really love bringing blankets and things for kiddos to sit on because I know what will photograph best. I know as a family, the last thing you’re going to remember are props to sit on. I’d never expect you to bring the basic things like a quilt for sitting. I keep multiple blankets for outdoor sessions on hand and keep them in my car for you to choose from.
