Ethan’s mom contacted me to schedule her first child’s newborn session. She loved the idea of choosing someone who offered a natural approach to newborn photography. We scheduled her session with a tentative date. I always let clients know their date is tentative in case their due date changes. Which we all know happens quite often. If your due date changes by more than 4-5 days I usually alter the session date to make sure your baby is between 7-14 days old by their session.
Once they booked baby Ethan’s session we started planning their session. They knew they wanted natural photos and they had a few requested which i was happy to help give them. A lot of their requests were poses I already offer. We also chatted about outfits and what would photograph best for them. Part of hiring me as your photographer includes wardrobe consultations. I’m here to make sure you feel 100% confident and at ease!
Baby Ethan was such a cutie pie the day of his session. He slept most of his session except to feed mid-session. Every parent is different, some breastfeed during their session and some bring formula. Some pump and bring breastmilk in a bottle. My only suggestion is that you bring plenty of milk, regardless of where it comes from. Your baby may feed on a schedule but that schedule can often go out the window during a session and they may want to feed more. Being passed around and posed can make them hungry! Sometimes they may need a binky during their session even if they don’t take one at home. Using one during the session won’t mean they get hooked on binky’s, promise! It helps soothe them in between posing and perfecting their little hands or feet before I take a photo.
