Simple Baby Milestone Photo Session | Columbus Baby Photographer
Kayla’s mom, Susie, contacted me to schedule her seven month old baby photos in my Grove City, Ohio studio. We talked about what she had in mind for baby photos. She wanted some photos of her in a dress that she brought from home, some of her playing with the classic toys I offer in studio and then some where she is in a simple onesie.
The day of Kayla’s session we started with photos of her in a soft pink onesie from my studio wardrobe collection. She has such a joyful smile and the most gorgeous eyes! She made my job a total breeze! After her onesie photos we dressed her in the cream, lace dress her mom brought. I captured her playing, smiling and being her true self. I love being able to give parents some photos of their baby just playing and being natural. They always end up being my favorite images! After her dressy photos we took some images of her in a cloth diaper just being her adorable, baby self. She got to touch her toes, giggle, play with wooden toys and listen to my terrible nursery rhyme-singing! Haha!
At the end of her session her mom wanted a few babywearing photos of them together. But Miss Kayla wasn’t having it. The moment she got her in position, Kayla was ready for a breastfeeding session. Rather than send them on their way I told her to relax on my studio bed and nurse her baby. They live about 20 minutes away and I couldn’t imagine making her drive all the way home with a hungry baby. During her time nursing, I asked if she wanted me to capture them together on camera. She said yes! Mom, Susie, ended up choosing a few of the breastfeeding images in her final gallery. Such a sweet, special time in their lives I know she will want to remember forever. And now she can!
