Baby Vivian's First Birthday Photo Session | Grove City Baby Photographer
Vivian’s mom contacted me to schedule her first birthday portraits in my Grove City, Ohio studio. We talked about my natural style with minimal props and colors. She loved the ideas so we scheduled a session right away! I knew right away there would be certain items for Vivian to wear and use for her session, but we still liked the idea of her wearing a timeless white dress.
I hopped online to find the right dress and sent the link to her mom. She adored the dress I suggested and purchased it from Kohl’s online. We also planned for a few photos in just a diaper cover and some in a cream bonnet.
When Vivian and her mom arrived to my residential studio we took a few minutes for Vivian to adjust to a new space. She was full of smiles for me but clung to her mama. It turned out she needed a new diaper and a snack from my refreshments I keep stocked in the studio. After that she was laughing and giggling; playing with some of the toys I have on hand. In particular, she loved my white studio bunny. She clung to it for comfort and play.
It’s important to me that clients receive images of their children at play, as well as traditional smiling photos. You will want to remember their big sparkling eyes and bright smile, but also their little feet. Their long lashes. The way they play with little lovies and hold onto blankies.
There were moments where Vivian needed snuggles from her mama and a few goldfish crackers here and there. There is no pressure when babies need a break. I’d rather take the time to make sure your child is happy and having all their needs met before trying to proceed during a photo session.
