Schiller Park Maternity Session | Columbus Maternity Photographer
I met Josh and Mollie years ago for an extended family session on Mollie’s side of the family. I also went to school with her and her sister, Megan. Over the years I’ve documented growing families, extended families with grandparents and little ones and more. I truly appreciate the loyalty of their family and how much they trust my vision with their important milestones.
Mollie contacted me wanting to schedule a maternity session in the fall. Boy did we have troubles scheduling due to weather! It ended up working in our favor because we were able to schedule a week later and colors had just begun to change a bit. We also lucked out and the sun gave way for beautiful, glowing portraits.

Mollie was a little nervous about looking natural in her photos. She didn’t care for over the top portraits of expecting mothers with extravagant dresses, floral crowns or “cheesy” poses. I ensured her that my style of maternity photography is natural and filled with connection and love. She showed me a photo of mine I had taken at the same park and asked if we could use the same spot. She showed me the photo of a large tree with a long branch. We walked over to the tree and she couldn’t believe it was the same location as in the photo. There was a tennis court to the left, a building in the back and trash bins scattered around. If possible I remove distractions in portraits. In the first image below you’ll see the photo with the tree she loved. I was able to remove a few trash bins, light poles and hid the building in the back by adding more tree cover. They were so happy with their final images!
