Baby Theodore's Newborn Session | Grove City Ohio Newborn Photographer
Ashley and Sam contacted me last fall to book a maternity and newborn session for their first child due to arrive in January. When I first met them for their in-home maternity session they were so down-to-earth and easy to get along with. Like spending time with friends! I so enjoy meeting a couple for maternity portraits before their newborn’s session so we can get to know one another. I asked if they wanted newborn photos in their home as well and they said they loved the look of my all-white studio so they opted for a studio session. My studio is located in home in Grove City, Ohio where I offer everything your baby needs during their session. I also use studio lighting so there is no need to worry about gloomy Ohio weather.
Ashley and I stayed in contact around her due date and she updated me when she found out she would have a scheduled induction. Once baby Teddy was born she and I scheduled a date that would work best for them. We planned for a date after their lactation consultant appointment with their little boy needing a bit of help feeding. It’s very important to me to plan a newborn session around what works best for new moms and new babies. I’d rather wait a few days and photograph a baby a little bit older than take on a younger baby who is still learning how to eat. It worked out perfectly for baby Teddy - he slept the entire session except once to eat!
At the beginning of their newborn session I showed them some of the items I offer for babies. Pants, onesies, and timeless props and fabrics. I also asked them if they liked any certain photos of mine on social media that they wanted to replicate. We started with parent and family photos, which are always a huge favorite of mine and clients! After family portraits we noticed baby Theodore needed a new diaper and seemed a bit hungry. We took a break so he could eat before rolling back into his solo photos.
